Moreover, in 2023 she has organised, developed and facilitated an artistic residency called ECHO III in Bucharest Romania, that was focused on arranged marriages in the Balkan region, where she guided 6 international artists to develop 4 video-poems focused on the topic.

Rooted in her own subjectivity, Letitia Popa’s work navigates themes of womanhood, otherness, memory and identity, exploring the process of becoming through the intimacy of everyday life. Blending fiction and documentary, her films explore the liminal space between self and other, with a strong attention to relationships, power dynamics, and questions of belonging. At the heart of her storytelling lies the idea of home: as a physical space, as memory, as sensation, as loss; a recurring thread that grounds both her past and future films in a personal yet universal terrain.

Furthermore, Letitia contextualises her work within the 34-year transition period of Romania. Her films delve into the everyday realities and socio-economic challenges faced by individuals during this transformative era. Exploring systemic issues ranging from corrections institutions to healthcare and migration, she portrays the individual as an integral component of the larger societal framework. Letitia employs observational cinema, alongside performative and experimental approaches.
